igfest

On the 17-18th of September 2010, igfest is back with more city wide fun and games.

It’s igfest 3 and the city is your playground. Zombie chase game 2.8 Hours Later is the big event and the festival as a whole offers loads of exciting and silly games to choose from. Bring your family, bring your friends, and come out and play with us!

Some igfest 3 highlights not to be missed are:

a city wide Zombie Chase game

2.8 Hours Later : a massive new zombie chase game for 200 players. Survive a night in Bristol without becoming a zombie and save the city from apocalypse. Tickets are now on sale from Watershed box office 0117 927 5100 or Watershed website.

The Running of the Bulls: Costumed beasts let loose in the city, intent on goring your gory bits. The Madness of Yore: rediscovered and updated, the folk games of our pagan past. This year igfest has also joined with Cyclefest, setting you off on city-wide cycle adventures or just playing stupid on two wheels.

igfest 3 will be based at our new city centre HQ in the buzzing and historic St Nicholas Market area of central Bristol.

Stay tuned for full festival listings!

Inspired by The Madness of Yore theme? We want you to bring your own game to igfest 3! Go to our submissions page.

 igfest was a…
winner

Finally the dust has settled and looking back at igfest from here i’m still amazed at the enthusiasm and dedication everyone brought to the fest. Both the fantastic game designers and the, ever willing to play, people of Bristol who really made it what it was.

What did we do at igfest? We ran through the night in our hundreds. We played on city streets, on boats, in parks, in car parks. We sewed down race tracks and cried out like Cuckoos and Wolves. We blasted each other with colour and plucked each other like harps. We ruled the lazer universe and sought lovers and dancers in the crowds. We had new fun with old friends and made new friends with some simple fun. We were all ages races and backgrounds and we were all peers.

Thanks to all those who came

Thanks to all those who made it possible

Here are some pics of the fest. If you have your own we’d love to see them so feel free to add them to our flickr group or tag them igfest
